My first Scrapbook!

I made a scrapbook, actually memory book for a friend who turned 40. His wife had organized a surprise birthday party and this was one of the gifts from her to him.  It turned out pretty good, at least guaging by their reactions, that is what I felt!  Below is the picture of the front cover.

I had so much fun making this book and now I think I will do this for my children also.  Has anyone of you made a scrapbook before? If so, please do send across fun ideas which I could use!!!

I wish I could share it, but I would rather keep the book closed since it has a lot of family pictures in it!

hey this is cute! If not the pics – can you show a sample inside? as in was it just pics or some space for scribbling thoughts? And how long does it take to come up with something like this? I’m planning to make one like this for my in laws’ anniv – aug. do share some tips…

Thanks! It has space for pics and scribbiling too 🙂 It took me a little over two weeks to come up with almost 25 pages of stuff. One for in-laws anniv sounds like so much fun!!! Wish I was there to help out !

I digital scrapbook. I did not want to print photos and cut them up so I decided to go digital. All our photos are also digital. At the end I print off the scrapbook pages and put them in an album. I have not done one for kuttyma yet but I have done it for other occasions. I used to use scrapblog.com but now not many of their stuff is free like it used to before but still it is a good place to start

    Hi

Haven’t made one (the only things I can craft are tales) – but have seen some very cute scrapbooks. Can buy ones which are acid free (the other types cause yellowing of photos over time) and create cute scrapbooks with pictures/clippings/notes/handwritten inserts for various occasions- family vacations (postcards/random vignettes or idiosyncracies of a particular place), each year of one’s child(ren) (first steps, first words, festivals)

Or someone like me can create a list of restaurant menus and favorite dish photos 🙂

Hello! Welcome here! Crafting tales is also quite an art, so keep that going! 🙂

I did not know that you get scrapbook pages that are also acid free.. the only thing that I purchased the last time which was acid free was the glue. Next time, if I end up making a scrapbook will definitely keep a lookout for acid free scrapbooks. Thanks for the tip!

A scrapbook of resturant’s and menu’s sounds quite tasty 🙂 Maybe you should give it a shot.. it would be of use to the other foodies like us 🙂

Oooooh that is a lovely idea!! I love handmade stuff like this. I’ve made collages out of snaps..but never a scrap book. Good Idea for sure. The giftee will treasure 🙂
