I took my time responding to your comment since there were so many things I wanted to tell! But basically Vishu is the astrological Malayalee new year. It is celebrated by an arrangement of yellow fruits and vegetables, gold, money, etc and we see this arrangement early in the morning on Vishu day. A good arrangement, we believe will bring us prosperity and luck throughout the year.

Now, why am I celebrating Vishu? – Remember the smidgen of Kerala mentioned in my About page.. well that smidgen makes me wanna celebrate!!! 🙂

Thanks S! When you have two little ones, the creativity increases, while trying to dump them on Appa! I was trying to delay as much as possible arranging for Vishu so that H is forced to put them to sleep!!

Happy Vishu to you too. I’ve mailed out the March challenge prizes. So keep an eye out for the postman!

I was gonna say that I lilked the dollar maalai too 🙂

I once gave an uncle a dollar bill bcos he wanted one. I thought he was probably into collecting currencies. What do you know.. he was using it as a book mark 😀

Dollar as a book mark is a neat idea! I would probably get the dollar laminated! Isn’t that a good return gift idea also?

I love kaashu malai..so decided to give Vishu Kani ammal also one! 🙂
